This is the best introduction to the Basic Channel sound - it doesnt explore sidetracks like abstract experimentation (Radiance, Octagon) or hard techno (Phylyps Track, Enforcement), but instead concentrates on the vast and expansive sort of dubbed-out house that Basic Channel effectively invented.

The sounds are like distant strings scattered throughout the sky, seen through the distortion of heat haze. The low-down, stomach-tickling deepness of the bass underpins the endless, multi-layered atmosphere, and makes for an immensely captivating track. Its like hearing a wonderful deep house record from the opposite side of the Grand Canyon, the sounds shimmering and refracting on their way across.

This is one of those records that makes you annoyed that more music cant be pressed onto a piece of vinyl - I want this to go on for four hours. Get two copies, though, and make a whole minidisc seguing between the two dubs, and go on a long scenic drive...
