Pretty and thumping tech-house from Plastic City, this time in the form of Greek artist George Pallikaris, as known as G-Pal. The tracks on LIFE merge his ambient leanings (as can be heard on his album SILK on Elektrolux) with a solid beat, and I think the beat grounds the dreamier elements (immediately evident on "More Than Beautiful" and "Aegan Sea") to keep them from getting cheesy. The title track has a tinkling smoothness that permeates the whole album. For instance, the tabla-laden promises of “Breathe (Interlude)” give way to the mellow tribalism of “Black Lights”; “Morning Lights” blips around with some quiet vibraphones in the background. The final track, “After Life,” tosses in some breaks for fun, taking out the album on slightly different note.
