"Dance Sing" is certainly familiar territory for Theo, it's more like his older stuff than most of the tunes he's recently been releasing. I know Rick Wade was sitting on these trax for years before putting them out so that might be why. "Twin Cities", on the other hand, is Theo's ode to his two hometowns: Chicago, the place he was born and raised and Detroit, the place in which he now resides. Mixing the Chi-town trackiness with the Detroit chords works very well on this cut, definitely a dancefloor mover. I dare say this record should be considered essential for any Theo fan, to me it best shows his influences.
Forget the A side, a looped up funky break which doesn't really go anywhere & head straight for the B side. 'Dance Sing' is one of those hypnotic slow-burning grooves which Theo does so well. Driving percussion, whispering vocals, delicate piano keys & a booming bassline melded together into the deepest of tracks which you'll find yourself returning to again & again.
