Soundtrack to Alan Parker's 1978 Columbia Pictures movie "Midnight Express" starring Brad Davis, Irene Miracle, John Hurt and Billy Hayes. Produced by Alan Marshall and David Puttnam. Based on a true story of Bill Hayes, from the same titled book by Billy Hayes and William Hoffer. Screenplay by Oliver Stone.


On May 18th, 1978 "Midnight Express" was shown to an audience of world press at the Cannes Film Festival...43 days later the United States and Turkey entered into formal negotiations for the exchange of prisoners.

The movie won 2 oscars in 1979 (Best Writing, Best Music). This was Moroder's first movie score.

What can we say about that famous soundtrack ? Well the lead track, The chase is well known by everybody, an unforgetable masterpiece standard which is still played 25 years after by most well known DJs around the world...
