Crijevo, Sep 24, 2007 Although every ENB album brings along some loose sense of perfection, Perpetuum Mobile makes it also an example of beating around the bush - dont know about other ENB fans, personally I always preffered Blixa when not trying hard to sound like Nick Cave. For such reasons, this album is sadly one in a row - conceptually, it gives the illusion of ENB maturing enough to provide suitable song material alongside their standard theatrics but in the end it is full of loopholes. Irritating whisperring and dull spoken-word-type vocals go for the word boring - which is truly ungreatful to say about the groups work, but thats one word that comes to my mind at the moment, and as hard as I try, cannot shake it off.
Further listening recommended in case you feel like missing the point. Was the above review useful to you? (report)
