I just bought this used without knowing anything about it and it is pretty darn great. Deeeeep funk grooves with some Africanish undercurrents. Mid '70s to early '80s. Not much info, but it says some of the tracks were known on the Northern Soul and Rare Groove circuts. He had albums on the Dakar label and later on Mercury.
"Truck Stop, "Pimp Walk", "Dance Your Ass Off", all HOTT.
I'd love to learn more about this artist, because his music is smokin'. I can imagine A Certain Ratio knowing and loving this guy!
Anyone with any knowledge (Ashley Beetle, do you Discog?) please share it.
