This albums importance in electronic music history may have only become apparent recently, nearly 10 years after its release, for it can be readily observed how commonly at least some aspect of the style portrayed here has been knocked off by other artists to freshen their own productions. Quite strange, considering it is an album that basically explores the past, ranging from disco ("Fresh", "Indo Silver Club") to Kraftwerk-esque minimalism ("Daftendirekt", "Da Funk", "Around The World", "Alive"). Combining an element of a more modern outlook on club sounds ("Revolution 909") and that something that makes it all Daft Punk ("Rollin & Scratching", "Rock N Roll"), you have yourself quite a unique album and one whose importance should never be underestimated.
