This was my very first Sol Invictus CD, bought it for my 17th birthday together with T.S.O.L.'s "Change Today" (strange coupling, but whatever). I was enchanted at once by the "apocalyptic folk" style, to which I had previously been exposed only by a couple of Death In June and Current 93 songs. The concert here recorded is a shower of anthems from the first period of the band, and every song is powerfully and dramatically interpreted. Heavy percussions and keyboard tunes help creating a haunting and magic atmosphere. Sound quality is marvellous for a bootleg. The only annoying particular is represented by a guy in the audience calling loudly a certain "Michael" all the time... or maybe was he asking for the song of the same title? Was the above review useful to you?
