Notes

Pioneers Of The Warped Groove samples the hiphop/cut & paste record Turntable Trix One and actors Dennis Hopper and Kyle MacLachlan in the film Blue Velvet (1986). The title might be a riff on the Warp Records compilation Pioneers Of The Hypnotic Groove. Also samples "party people" vocal from Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force - Planet Rock.

The House Is Mine samples the 1980 disco classic 'Linx - You're Lying' & vocal from Public Enemy - 'Power To The People'. Samples piano from Richie Havens - 'Going Back To My Roots'.

House is mine is a pure magic track and classic of the early rave scene.
If this tune was dropped at a massive festival or party it would still go down as well as it did in 91.

What a tune! completely mental when in breaks, like someone punching you in the face with techno. Where do you drop into a set though, as it either upsets, disturbs, warps or excites minds.

This House Is Mine - is simply amazing...
1992 and im 17 and tripping on strawberry acid dips at the beach with my pals with my Hitachi 3D Super-Woofer 80-watts blasting these tunes taped off 103.4 FM (Smokey Joe and B-Jam on Fridays and Crimewatch/Top Ranking on Thursdays) - the ruff synth samples with lots of flanger and trippy slow then speeded up voices on its intro totally blew our minds leaving us rewinding the tape over and over... of course there were many a tune that blew your mind on acid but THIS ONE was one of the top ranking tunes... the sounds and effects were well ahead of their time and no-one had heard stuff like that before....let alone whilst on ACID! - BRILLIANT!!!

"The House Is Mine" kicks of with a piano riff and some female voices and people are dancin´ happily around until it´s hard interupted with the sample "And you thougt the beat slowed down! Come ON !"
And the the mayhem sounds starts and people starts raving insanily.
A very surprising track.

Caspar Pound gets his production 100% correct with "Pioneers Of The Warped Groove", a real case of 'getting lost in track' begins when you check this release out.. Fusing Hardcore, Techno ,Oldschool Electro plus movie vocal samples this is a sure winner everytime I hear it...
Caspar Pound samples beat patterns from a release entitled-
"Turntable Trix Vol One" a classic HipHop Cut'n'Paste style record from back in the day 1988... This sampled beat is slotted in so precisely that it fits in perfectly with his unmistakable sound... The vocal sample 'You wanna go for a ride/.. Okay lets go!' plus the hauntingly eerie synth lines really does compliment the 'emotional ride' that the listener goes through... From time to time I still hear this being played out and it still never sounds dated! This is sheer brilliance that still fills me with nostalgia.

I have white label of this, which came in a generic Rising High sleeve. Bought in the Corn Exchange in Leeds. It has "Hypnotist - The House Is Mine" handwritten in blue felt pen on one side. "RSN4A - Porky Primer" is etched in the runout of the A side, and "RSN4 AA - A Porky Prime Cut" on the AA side. To me the AA track - Pioneers of the Warped Groove - is far superior than the title track.

I have two copies of this, the first being a white label with a red stamp on it that says "The Hypnotist." I'm not sure why it didn't get better reviews. The 'house is mine' had an amazingly deep piano line with scat female vocals. Then it kicked into some heavy 303 trance styled synth. Then always back into the deep piano. I think this was one of the best releases of the time.
