User Reviews:

Axiomata, Sep 22, 2007

First off, I want to start by saying that I love comps like this. Comps based around a venue are almost always great (another excellent example being the Emma comp from 1986). Secondly, how can you go wrong with this thing? You've got 2 LPs and a 7" of well known acts (Spk, Chris & Cosey, Neubauten, etc.), and cult favorites (Zero Kama, Club Moral, Non Toxique Lost, p16d4, Der Plan, etc.).

A few points of notice:

The Spk track is great. It seems to have been recorded around the same time as Zamia Lehmanni as it is in the style of that record.

The Michel Banabila track is a very nice surprise. I had never heard him before this comp. Great ambient track with an eastern flair.

The live Neubauten track is top notch. As far as I know, the song is only available on this comp.

As for the rare vinyl appearance by Club Moral, it is somewhat dissapointing. One can be certain, however, that Danny Devos was doing something horrible to his body while recording this.

With regards to the Zero Kama track though, it may be their very best song! As some of you may know, they attempted to do an audio version of Crowley's Book of the Law. This track is all that ever surfaced from that project. It's very different from everything else that they ever recorded.

The are also standout tracks are from: Z'ev, Der Plan, Non Toxique Lost, Test Dept., and The Legendary Pink Dots.

Sure, there's some filler, but it's tolerable.

All in all, a great comp.
