Doug Wimbish is probably one of the most influential bass players in modern music having done sterling work on much of the output of On-U Sound recordings. His playing is super-tight and jaw-droppingly funky

This album under his own name is pure gold, a thrilling rhythmic, spacey dub/funk audio trip comparable to the trance trips that the Orb and KLF used to do 10 years ago. Individual tracks stand up in their own right AND they blend together nicely to provide a complete head trip of an album.

Listen to the seductive 'Arabic Cat' and you just have to be impressed. However the best (and funniest) track for my money is 'Just Another Minute' wherein Wimbish, yelling the track title to the producer, goes off into a superb jam session that is suddenly cut off in mid flow, leaving the listener gasping for what possibly could have been the greatest bass solo of all time.

Absolute quality. If you don't have this in your dub collection you are missing a real gem.
