It seems surprising to us all that this was actually the first Miss Kittin solo album, such has been her presence in the electro scene for 10 years now.
But, indeed, this is her debut album. And it is fantastic.
She really opens her ideas here, so we are not just treated to the sexy Kittin we know and love from 1982, Silver Screen, Rippin Kittin et al but also to a deeper, more reflective side of the woman.
She is punk as much as she is electro, and the songs here dont so much push that fact as to gently remind us of it.
Professional Distortion is a classic, and Requiem For A Hit is sheer brilliance. LFO made a lethal remix of Requiem, managing to meld Kittins vocals to an old school "Energy Flash" meets brutal Belgian Techno sound.
Also, a big mention has to go to the Hacker collaboration Soundtrack Of Now. A match made in heaven as always.
