- The fist time I listened to this CD, I did not like it because I scanned through the songs without hearing the CD whole in one session. When I then listened to it whole 2 months later, I was completely amazed. This is what trance is meant to be, in my opinion anyway. This album flows together through fantastic mixing like I have never heard before. My favorite songs are Salt Tank's "Eugina", Mekka's "Diamondback," and the best song, Coast2Coast's "Home." I cannot underscore the mixing and style on this CD, it is downright unbelievable. Yes, it is slower and more mellow trance but still quite dancable. Very dreamy. Any trance fan will love it.
- Waow, almost 20 years anniversary for the best mix CD by Tiesto ever. This Mix has absolutely changed my life and touched me in may ways.
Top track :
Salt Tank Eugina (Michael Woods Remix)
Rui Da Silva - Touch Me
Cass & Slide perception - What more can be said about the now-legendary ISOS2. The edition that is the softest and most reflective of turn-of-the-century progressive house mixed with progressive trance, Tiesto drops gem after gem here. If you haven't listened to this yet, get your hands on a copy and make up your mind whether it deserves the legendary status. I am willing to bet that you agree though! I would claim that this is one of the finest intros to any early-00s trance compilation (just eeking out ISOS3!)
Top tracks:
Tastexperience - Tantrix
Kamaya Painters - Summerbeeze
BT - Dreaming (Lucid's Club Mix) - Edited 17 years agoEver since I bought this CD in 2002, it's been one of my absolute favourites. The setlist is great; it starts up soft, euphoric and progressive and continues with a more melodic part to finally finish of with a harder part. The mixing might not be as smooth and slim as I am used to and normally like it, but it's still close to perfection. I wish words could describe it better.
- Edited 19 years agoI honestly can't see what the big deal about this release is.
Having more or less ignored Tiesto's DJ mixes for other material, I was interested to see what the three time #1 DJ had to offer. Almost all his fans will say this is one of his crowning achievments so I gave it a shot.
It starts out pleasently chilled out enough, which was the theme of these mixes from what I hear, but things take a turn for Vocal Valley with some very abrupt changes (including one very dodgy mix, I must add) before going into harder territory to finish off. I'm just not getting a sense of decent flow, though. Songs more or less play one after the other without any build-up for the next track.
As for track selection, almost all of the major songs have been heard on several other releases and nothing in their arrangement here makes them sound any more pronounced than when heard on dozens of other DJ mixes.
It's a pleasent enough listen but hardly the classic I keep being told it is. I found Oakenfold's 'Another World' to be a better example of this style of trance. - I don't belive I've heard any other compilations from any other DJ that are as overwhelming as "In Search of Sunrise".
I was given the first and immediately went out and purchased
#2 and #3.. I enjoy Seaman, van Dyk, Howells, Digweed and many more but there are mixes that I find fault with, not
with Tiesto in the set.. they are flawless.. killer music, seamless.... - I've had this set for about one year now and I am in love with it. It is definately one of my favourites and the tracklisting is incredible. All the songs mix well together, and the choice of songs is perfect. It is definately one of the most beautiful trance sets I own. Tiesto is definately the man.
~s~ - This is one of the most beautiful mix-cd I've ever heard. And I haven't also heard a dj who mixed music like Tiesto does... First 15 minutes are enough to fly away, because Taste Experience, LN Movement and espacially Kamaya Painters kick ass... I dont mention here about BT, Mekka and Coast To Coast with Discovery... This CD is worth to listen.
