One of the finest ambient trance albums, this LP inspired sonic pioneers everywhere thanks to classy production throughout. Waves of ambient melody are married to dub beats, escoteric samples (taken from such raw material as the campy 'Flash Gordon' movie) and ubiquitous drug references. Whilst this may seem ridiculous, the end result is a lush, many layered sound.
Many of the tracks will be strangely familiar (e.g. 'Little Fluffy Clouds') thanks to repeated use in TV advertising and suchlike.
Whilst the Orb may be considered passe by jaded modern listeners, this album is still worth 150 minutes of your chill out time. The track 'Gaia' is a particular favourite 8^)Was the above review useful to you? (report)
