Classic soul album w/ heavy hip hop influences and excellent musicianship. Got it back in '96 and still listen to it and play it at chill dj gigs on a regular basis. With the exception of Maxwell's "Urban Hang Suite," have had a hard time finding modern soul/r that carry a timeless and relevent feel in the spirit of Marvin Gaye, Al Green or Curtis Mayfield. Play this stuff for your girl and you will get some.
