Håkan Lidbo's full length contribution to Poker Flat, "Tech Couture" is full of pretty decent inbetweener techno set sounds. Beats a little more for the lounge dance floor than a full on dance club, it's high on quirky sounds and big on shuffle type beats. Still Håkan finds a nice home and the album fits in well with the Poker Flat sound of 2001. A bit more experimental in structure then the previous first 2 full length albums on Poker Flat by Steve Bug and Martin Landsky, Håkan takes the feel a bit more stripped down. Tech Couture still has plenty of house sounds though like "Bilingual" shows. More shuffle beats and highlight melody on the record comes on "Kiki De Montparnasse". Håkan, always finding new sounding basslines, sometimes can sound a bit dated though. Nothing outstanding here but if you are looking for early nite or early morning techno beats this is a good cd but not enough melody for me.
