European Edition Volume 2 features four tracks from 3 separate artists. Hajime Yoshizawa is back again from European Edition Volume 1 with ‘I Am With You' which was a massive selling single in Japan. Gilles Peterson was playing the original on his Radio 1 show in October 2002 (two years before this release date). Has it aged? Has it become irrelevant? Has it Hell! This is Jap Jazz at its best satisfying heads and feet. Wouldn't have appeared out of place on Pacific Jam's LP all those years ago. It features Nina Miranda (Da Lata) on vocals and it's sexy and lovely. And it doesn't let up there. The second track by Chris & Nina (Miranda) ‘ Fried Banana' kicks. Another great dancer. The B-side of 'Veya Veya' by Bakura (Domu & Robert Marin) with Cida de Assis on vocals is laid back acoustic guitar bouncy Rio vibe. Chris & Nina return to finish off with ‘Mash Banana'. It's an instrumental version of 'Fried' with electric guitar and tinkering electric piano; hints of 1970's Santana but in a dancefloor style. Possibly the best of the bunch. A good one for the collection.
