I dusted off a beat-up copy and listened to all the mixes for the first timy since the late 80's...I was obsessed with this song back in the final years right before the Paradise Garage closed. Truth be told, I think this is way superior to Ten City's classic "Devotion", which in itself is an amazing and timeless anthem. I think this one is even more original and starkly dark and sad (in a gorgeous way), and thoroughly progressive and ahead of its time, while staying deeply soulful and plaintive. An absolute must-own for lovers of Electronic Black Vocal Soul.

Byron Stingily vocals and Marshall Jefferson production is the ultimate combination, this record is just like one of your 40 year French Beaujolais Red Wine bottles, just gets better every year. If there's one house music anthem, it's this one and not that other famous one by Marshall ...
