Grinding Into Emptiness contains the most blatant snare drums in Bill Leeb's long and sordid history with the instrument so by that fact alone I have to leave some comment on it. I'm serious, they get center stage even above the vocals. But who really cares what Leeb is saying anyway. The first half of this album kicks ass for those of you with nostalgic EBM tendencies. Especially "Deceit" gets the rivethead out in all of us. Unfortunately the album gets somewhat lost in forgettable downtempo and ambient tangents, but at least it's not textbook EBM all the way through.
