Very simple, gritty, under-produced DEEP late night house. Got past many househeads' radar probably due the obscurity of Soiree Records in that community. Already legendary for spawning TECHNO, Detroit also proves itself as a major player in the early to mid 1990's deep house scene. This release alone, if nothing else, (although there's some really good deep house on Submerge and KMS, etc) easily compares and competes with better-known contemporaries NY, NJ, Chicago,(and Toronto too!). UNDERGROUND House Music's tried and true formula comes naturally to these producers: infectious repetitive vocal hook, sparse but effective organ keys and bassline , and swing styled percussion.
key words: SIMPLE and FUNKY
Sounds very much like the Burrells' early-mid 90's releases on NU Groove & Citi Records... (if you're into that style of deep-house, I'd suggest copping this one real quick!)
