Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5

This was my favorite record in 1991, and is one of my favorites today (though a lot of that has got to do with nostalgia, admittedly). Virtually all of these remixes are great. At its release, J.J. Jeczalik complained that they were too close to the originals, but I think that 15 years on it's probably best that way. Most of them are still rather dated by this point, but some of them (the Prodigy Remix, the Mark Brydon remix, the Ground remix, and some of the Mark Gamble work) still hold up today, and the Sweet Exorcist remix is Richard H Kirk's best work under that name, in my opinion. Additionally, the 2LP is pressed nice and loud at 45rpm, so it is entirely clubworthy.
