I was completely blown away by this album -- it's stunning in its emotional impact and depth. It's not only because Alison Goldfrapp's vocals are marvelous -- her various guest appearances over the years confirm that -- but the music itself speaks so powerfully. The lush instrumentation complements her moody vocals perfectly. From the theremin-coated "Lovely Head" to the dark and melancholy "Horse Tears," there's not a weak track on the album. My personal favorite, "Pilots," is dreamily romantic with a tinge of melancholy. The bonus disc collects various remixes and re-versions from the singles off of Felt Mountain-- it's the sauce that completes the meal.
