Various - Trancemaster 16

This is an interesting release to comment! It is certainly not one of the cd's in my collection I put the most pride into having and you are probably able to pick this one up at any 2nd record store for a buck or two. But I bought it in 1997 at full price so I am eager to rest assured that there was some kind of sense in me buying it back then!

I remember that track 5 Follow Me on disc 1 (by DJ Energy !!!) did something for me back then so let's see what it does for me now.

Yeah, this is the happy trance, almost antheme, but still not, I remember it to be! You can give up on this type of music or accept that sometimes you just want something uplifting, softly layered with very simple leads that holds your hand all the way. It can't send me spiralling into deep coma, but if played at the most dark hour and in a (very :o)) small dose I can't completely rule out the possibility it could offer a nice mood change.

That's what the Trancemaster series has to offer. In your face easy listening trance music. Then again. Hearing a track like Invaders on disc one I sometimes wonder whether this series is really just ahead of its time ...
