User Reviews:

This is the album that introduced me to Venetian Snares after hearing about his material through various sources. I was expecting more clicky Autechre-like IDM, which to be honest, I find more difficult with what I was presented with here. After hearing the first track though, I was questioning my small amount of knowledge about Mr. Funk. "Piano? Surely not!" With the second track, I knew what this album was all about; breakcore and classical. This fusion probably makes this album the most innovative IDM album. I still think Aphex Twin's "Drukqs" is the best, but this album really is a new step. The version of Gloomy Sunday here is also brilliant, maybe even better than the Associates' version.
