Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5
Review by Jeddia Oct 24, 2011
One of, if not THE heaviest album ever recorded. This album marks an absolute triumph in the heavy metal genre. The writing is brutal and relentless, and paired with amazing production in the studio, you are treated to sheer sonic armageddon.

When asked "What is the heaviest album ever?", many will spew forth the names of countless badly produced speed/death/grind core bands. Keeping in mind that "speed", "noise", and "dark content" do not necessarily equate to "heavy", you will always find that "Roots" sets the standard.

I'm most likely preaching to the choir if you're reading this, but in the rare case of someone who was just curious...I recommend this album to anyone with an affinity for heavy music. It is a brick sandwich.
