Venetian Snares - Meathole

I have to say, this is my favourite and most rewarding Venetian Snares release. Meathole is very similar type of stuff what he released on Hymen - it contains same kind of unhealthy mental drive and twisted obsession to the world of serial killers therefore making it the darkest and thrilling release on mr. Funk's discography. Various samples keeps building slowly this sick, awful state of mind by taking materials from old psychology film footage where they are trying explain how the criminal mind works or from thriller movies like "One Hour Photo". I have no idea where the intro sample of Szycag was snatched but it's playing the unforgettable role in Meathole - someone is vomiting the content of the stomach and the second person states "You love it, huh?". Of course i love it, especially the beat programming where Venetian Snares once again throws the full unstoppable force of originality in breaks and with unforgiving hardcore bass drum. So yeah, Meathole is intense and one of the most creative work from Aaron Funk and after playing it all the way through, it's guaranteed to leave you craving for more.

This is actually really solid. coming from someone who thinks Aaron Funk is, lets just say, less than an "artist", that says a lot. his stuff on hymen was good, and this sounds like it belongs on hymen, not planet mu. go make a copy off of one of your friends that bought it, dont encourage this man to keep releasing 20 albums a year.
