The real gem here is Payback Part 2. Although both are dark steppy tunes with booming bass, part 2 was a firm favourite of A list djs before and after its release and I have heard it still get played out today, particularly Marky digging it out for one of his infamous scratch attacks.
Many drum and bass fans, particularly purists, hark back to 1998/99 when ed rush and optical were shifting the DNB paradigm; this tune should be remembered alongside those classics as a snapshot of one of the last truly innovative period of DNB's history. Noone should rate this tune without hearing it over a big rig &, unlike a lot of its peers, it still sounds fresh. Many a time i have heard people ask what this tune is and are surprised they haven't heard it before and how old it is.
