I don't know how come I ended up buying this, but it definitely turned out to be one of the most double crossing disappointing CD purchases ever. I remember somehow everything seemed right about it, and I had probably heard some of the track from somewhere. the only thing that's good about this is the cover. There is only one track that is worth listening to, but as I remember it gets boring even during the first listen.
it's the kind of album where each track has about two minutes of introduction with a very standard beat and about two synthesiser pads that lose your attention almost immediately , and then for one lucky moment there is in original synthesiser and samples melody that lasts for 10 seconds and then goes on for a whole three minutes without a single chord change and then disappears into some standard beats and nothing happens for about two minutes and then guess what? The same melody comes back for a whole two minutes again. Then you get to the outro which is standard boring beats for about three minutes with a simple whizzy synth sound repeating over and over again, and the track ends. In the whole album, about 10 or 15 seconds of synthesiser wizardry.
unless you can handle very minimalist empty soundscapes with no chords and little rhythm , this is no good. Funky porcini I don't think so.

Wicked stuff this. Cinematic beats and samples in combination with funny bleeps make the ideal soundtrack to some childrens program from a parallel universe. When you like the strange worlds of Full Moon Scientist or Funki Porcini and you consider Jean Jacques Perry ‘a bit unlistenable’: please, dive in.
