I think its a misconception to think of this release as a remix cd. Hallucinogen - In Dub, the name says it all, is in my opinion a dub, down-tempo re-interpretation of Hallucinogen's classical Goa soundscape, which is quite an ambitious task considering the classical status of his trance albums. But with Ott joining on to the project with Simon it's bound to hit the mark, smash it and recreate it with new structures of sonic brilliance.

Deep sonic soundscapes mingle with dub basslines to create massive moments. Nostalgic moments from Hallucinogen's trance tunes come back to me but in a warm, lush, dubby melodies. Ideal for listening after you've listened to a Hallucinogen CD, it will feel like an extension of the trip on the dance floor. A magical journey built on the moods and concepts of previous works to perfectly complement each other into another whole.

A must have if you like Shpongle and the rest.

I think Simon Posford is the most talented psytrance artist in the world. After listening his Hallucinogen albums, I was sure about these were the best goa discs I ever met. So hypnotic and twisted as I can't describe it with words.
To remix a masterpiece is a very dangerous business. Now, it's six tracks! I can tell you that with closed eyes, it is as wonderful as the original Hallucinogen albums. Posford's best friend Ott remixed six well-known trance tracks, and took them into a very interesting dub mood. You can listen to it as a 'prequel' to his debut album Blumenkraft.

This is a unique journey, what a psychedelic fan can't miss.
Must buy!

The original album may be a standard in goatrance, I never really liked the over-produced sounds of Hallucinogen.

This however is something completely different. A wonderfull journey into the realms of psychedelic dub with a sublime production. Couldn't live without it.

This has to be one of my favourite CDs in my collection, both Simon Posford and Ott are musical geniuses in my opinion.
Every track is a masterpiece but my favourites have to be the remixes of Angelic Particles and Solstice.

From the opening synth line this album fluants the twisting turning psychedelic sounds that have made me love so much of Simon Posford's music. He is without a doubt my favorite sound designer. The tracks are all remixes of his older psy-trance tunes but toned down to dub style downtempo complete with smooth, strong bass lines and rhythm guitar hits typical of reaggea and dub. If you are a dub enthusiast you might not like this as much as king tuby or the icebreakers but it's a solid introduction to the more psychedelic electronic genres and highly recomended. If you are a hard core trance freak that doesn't like anything mellower than 140 bpm this might not be the album you're looking for. If you just love psychedelic music and sounds than you have no excuse not to own this album or at least check it out. My favorite tracks are the first three: Mi-loony-Um (I hated the trance version of this), Solstice, and Gamma Goblins (these three tracks also vary the most from the originals).
