For some reason, this particular record has a lasting appeal for me. I was initially disappointed with it after a few plays because it’s not quite as "cool" as a lot of other dubstep tunes out there, but it has grown into one of favourite records to stick on the decks and just let it play...
Deep and spatially sparse, the VIP mix mixes old and new textures, Accordions and subtle bongo loops with deep pads and glitchy snapping snares. Despite its sparsity, it feels distinctly uplifting. Always gets a play at 7am after a night of more hectic music.
