For me, Alex Under is one of the most prolific and consistently brilliant techno producers around at the moment. In a techno doomsday-type-scenario, if only a handful of producers could survive, Alex Under is one of the few producers I would pick to fly the flag for the future sound of techno. He is simply miles ahead of most of his contemporaries and his sound, a kind of hard minimal techno, bridges the gap between the old and new in the genre, seamlessly fusing dark, hypnotic hooks with brilliant percussion and clever transitions. With such a hypnotic quality, it is possible to hear similarites with the more minimal releases by earlier producers such as Robert Hood. Alex Unders tracks are truly well-crafted and definitely go against the tired old criticism that techno is repetitive and boring. His tracks are very well layered and brilliantly structured.

The "Fe En Erratas" ep is, arguably, the strongest of his more dancefloor-based releases. The A-side, "El Diluvio Azul" builds up nicely before erupting with an amazing rolling bass line and creepy high end section. The B-side, "El Danubio Universal" which is equally as good, has a similar approach and is perhaps even more hypnotic. Both tracks strength comes from the deep bass lines and playful lead sections.

This ep, like most of Alex Unders work, is a must buy for anyone who enjoys original and sophisticated techno, be they fans of more minimal music or aficionados of traditional techno.
