69 - Pungtang

Both tracks present on the A side, Sud Seducer (Unreleased Mix) and Desire, don't impress me too much, especially the first one with a pretty irritating vocal repeating something about being a sub seducer over and over again throughout the track. A2 isn't all that bad, but it's not until you get to the flip side that you come to realize where the action is.
Puntgang (Original) is nine minutes and some change slab of melodic, soulful, yet incredibly effective vintage dance floor Detroit techno, which lands as nothing short of what you'd come to expect from Carl Craig. A few minutes into the track there's a grand break, and before you know it you're hypnotized into a state of hazey trance with a solid couple of minutes consisting mainly of an apparently never ending lead melody sweeping everybody off their feet as a steady, but never disturbing or over emphasized, kick just keeps on coming at you!
Marvellous, one of my favorite tracks while I become one with the pure whiteness of my bedroom wall paint. The B2 is a slightly altered and shorter version of the original Puntgang.
The entire B side makes this entire 12" worth every one of your hard earned pennies, and I just cannot get enough of this stuff.
Mr. Craig, once again you've got me bowing my head as I'm confronted with your immense talent. Classic.
