Reviews & Discussion

Just average a record. Why? Lack of soul, lack of depth, lack of labour (a good laugh it is however!). Highly overrated these days although mainly found in the sales bins 10 years ago. Sought after because this is Aphex Twin. Food for speculants (what's new?), AFX collectors or (real!) hardcore dj's (RIP) only.

I don't agree the Choci and Mickey Finn mixes are stand-out tracks. The only thing they're doing is mashing up the original in a very strange way, I can't imagine someone could dance to this beats or enjoy listening them. Perhaps this release doesn't offer high quality Afx, but it's worth buying for the title track. The Caustic Window bassline mixed with the pacman sounds (Richard is a arcadefreak as you know) works pretty good. Recommended for Old School sets or just to remember the good old days.

A little known release from the Aphex Twin. Both the Choci and Mickey Finn mixes are the stand out tracks here, being decent early hardcore tracks. And yes despite the label both tracks should be played at 45 not 33.
