For those that know and like Soundhacks sound ‘Soundkit’ is a simply devastating affair – daring itself to combine the kind of precision in sound that you’d imagine could only mature to this extent in a laboratory, with an innate understanding of pure dancefloor groove – this is, simply put, prototype Micro-House in its rawest form. The gigantic opening salvo of ‘Scraper’ and then ‘Funkyrule’ state intent with blazing determination – spliced disco edits building themsleves up into a ruffled frenzy, cutups galore that shy away from the hiccup beats of the new skool and, instead, blurt out loop after loop of pure drippin’ discoid sweat. ‘Double Hammer’ coats itself in handfuls of glitter, perhaps we’re on the cusp of a new genre here, micro-chic anyone? ‘Riffler’ and ‘Whipsaw’ adhere to a much more reduced aesthetic : the edits shoved that little bit closer together, creating something that couldn’t really be described by any other name other than spannered.
