This is a great example of why i love the Dust Science label, which i have followed from the beginning. A collection of some serious veteran producers as well as some new talent. The Richard H. Kirk track 'Toned', though previously released on 'Fear No Evil' is a driving, hard-ish techno beast. The Dan Curtin track, 'Shining' is a deep, minimal, kind of mysterious piece with long chords and off-key bells. Derailleur, a more recent talent brings a jackin' piano-synth melody techno cut sounding Swedish. The Fred Gianelli track, also previously released is a beautiful laid back emotional, almost melancholy piece. The Shawn Rudiman track, which i have been eagerlay awaiting since 'Second is First' does not let down, it's another deep, driving piece with beautiful melodies and chin-stroking complexity. Sean Deason, another Detroit guy comes with my favorite track on the comp, 'Icicles', a fitting name for this cold sounding tune with long tapering synth lines and trippy bubbling background sounds. And it goes on like this, one great tune after another, the Jaguar Woman and Carl Tatlor tunes being strong showings. I only wish it was released on vinyl. Really there's no stinkers or disposable tracks that you find on SO MANY comps. A++++++ i love this!
