Les Crane ‎– Desiderata / A Different Drummer

A wonderful 7" that's worth tracking down. Starts off with a 'chillout' (don't you hate that term) of random cityscape sounds - taxis, crowds, city noises, not disimilar to the soundtrack to a blacksploitation film, then builds up to a crescendo of noise you'd expect NYC to sound like at rush hour, before breaking down into a beautiful piano backed voice over which lasts for half the track.
I've just re-read my drunken ramblings after a trip to the loo and they don't do this record 1% of the justice it deserves. All I can say is that everytiime I've played this track out, I get at least 1 person asking me
1 what it is,
2 who it's by,
3 where I can get it, and
4 whether they can buy it from me.
