The Studio 1 CD compiles tracks and edits plus some new material from Mike Ink's (aka Wolgang Voigt(KOMPAKT, PROFAN, KREISEL))series of ten 12"-only singles released on the PROFAN sub-label. Each of the records had a different color and each of them was made by and released on STUDIO 1. The name of the game throughout focuses on straightahead, minimalist house grooves with little ornamentation other than Ink's focus on dubwise effects. Neophytes may wonder what the fuss is, though repeated listenings bear a few more insights into Ink's inner-space concepts.
The project Studio 1, formed 1995, continous on the parent-label PROFAN but the label STUDIO 1 is closed with this release.
