Notes:The first ever solo single by Canadian male pop/rock singer Bryan Adams. The song is co-written by Jim Vallance, who at the time was a drummer with the Canadian rock band Prism, using the false name Rodney Higgs. Previous to this single Bryan Adams was in a Canadian rock band called Sweeney Todd, in which he replaced UK born lead singer Nick Gilder, on their second album "If Wishes Were Horses". Bryan co-wrote several tracks on this album.

Both the 7" and 12" single (which have identical catalog numbers) have the song "Don't Turn Me Away" on the B-side. The song hasn't been on any latter release by Adams.

In addition to the 1978 original version of "Let Me Take You Dancing" (released only in Canada) a 'Dance Mix' was issued in 1979, which became the first solo hit for Bryan Adams in the Billboard Hot 100. This 'Dance Mix' (otherwise known as 'Disco Version' and 'John Luongo Remix') was remixed by US remixer John Luongo, who sped up the track significantly. Bryan Adams wasn't happy with the result, hence the song never appeared on any of his latter releases.
