What an album, BT's fifth studio album and it's absolutely amazing I can't really say much more about it other than just go out and buy a copy for yourself. BT has found a new tool to further himself in the world of electronica, recording & mixing in 5.1 surround sound. After finishing the score for the film Monster which was his first outing in 5.1 surround field he later said he would never go back to recording & mixing in stereo and who can blame him.
This album was composed & produced solely in 5.1 surround sound, the general release is accompanied by a DVD featuring all the compositions of the album in DTS 5.1 surround sound and features short animated films by well distinguished artists.
This Binary Universe has all the BT trademarks such as the BT stutter and is very well produced, even if he did use the odd children's toy to generate random sounds. This is arguably BT at his best, his last album was a major let down for me which appeared to be heavily influenced by pop. I'm glad to say that BT is back on track and with an amazing album to show for it.
