Notes

In jewel case.
The credits on the CD are misleading as to what the actual tracklist is, the back cover of the cd shows 15 tracks, the cd itself has 13 tracks. Two of the tracks are actually two songs in one.
By reading the booklet notes carefully, there are actually 16 tracks. The last hidden song "Dead Cities Reprise" starts at around 3:17 after 0:59 seconds of silence and is credited to Headstone Lane (Simon Wells).
The total running time of track 9 is 6:57, of track 12 is 5:32 and of track 13 is 4:45.

1, 4: Guitar stab, wah guitar and vocal yell sourced from Run DMC "Tougher Than Leather".
5: Vocals by Cobain from 'I Need Re-Calibrate' recorded at The Womb - London. Intro Breath environment sourced from an orchestral re-working of Eggshell.
6: Guitar sample swapped with Ozric Tentacles for Cubase.
7: Child's voice recorded 'Outside Of The Web' at Little Venice. Piano fed through the machines - restructured and recollaged from midi-files. Alto-Sax sample mechanically removed from a day's recording.
11: Moroccan flute recorded at Sordid Accomodation - London - 1989.
13.2: 'Honey Sunshine' from a hi-8 'Putts Goes to Sri Lanka'. Recorded at Headstone Lane from Snuff Recordings, 'The Disappearance Of Troy Motherwell'.

Recorded at Earthbeat Studios, London '96.

I love this album. I used to put headphones on and listen to it before I went to sleep. Dead Cities is not as nice as Lifeforms and it would take my dreams to very strange places, I remember staying up late watching the 40 minute music video that FSOL put together with many of the tracks off this CD, I think it was played on MTV at one point - "chillout zone" I think it was called.
That was bloody strange (fantastic) as well.

I do clearly remember when I first met this album. It was boring and discusting, empty lack of real ideas and musicality and melody. Boring sonic textures. Today I feel the same. Amatheur work, bad soundqaulity. I know many will disagree. I'm sorry, this era is absolutely mindless. FSOL had a great contribution to that all...
