3am is overrated. I'm really not a fan at all. It has good bits to it, it's just not put together very well.

The big gem here is Under The Sun. If there was ever a track to remind you of a nice summer afternoon by the beach it's this. Just a chill track with some beautiful drawn out guitar bits that sound spectacular. If you like this, check out Barbie Q by Syncopix on the Phunkfiction label.

Deepee is another nice chill piece. More of a soulful work with a funky beat and nice string bass. Goes along with with other jazzy liquid funk tracks.

Sunshine (Touch Me) is more like 3am. It's pretty good, but something just isn't right about it. I'm not a big fan. It just doesn't seem well put together.

"Under the Sun" one of my favourite tunes of all time. Will long outlive the rest of the other "trendy throw-away anthems" on the EP.

Waited the best part of two years for this one to finally make it onto vinyl after being teased by Fabio with it! For me it captures the laziness and searing heat of a sticky hot summers day. Floating in and out like a gentle breeze, mirrored in the fact that there is no build up, no huge drop. The intro sees a warm bass line and gentle drums massage you for a few minutes into what I could safely say is one of the all time most sublime drop outs of any D&B tune. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Hurts me every time. Beautifully deep tune.

Pretty patchy although still worth a look..

3am's probably the most overrated track of the last year (along with Midnight by Uncut).. Considering the production pedigree of both M.I.S.T and High Contrast it should have been amazing. -Definately a sum lesser than it's parts. Great sample, great sounds and a horrid clumping breakbeat that's totally innapropriate in a musical track such as this.

I think the real highlight here's the Total Science track, 'Dee Pee.' Although blatently based around a huge chunk of 'Drop Bear' by DJ Die on Full Cycle, play it out and full suddenly realise your floors full of girls, smiling. And that's always a good thing. Genuinely uplifting.

Do yourself and favour and pick up this vinyl, "3am" has to be one of the best dnb tracks i've heard in a long while.
