A Leroy Hutson-sounding, string-laden song with a wonderful vocal that has to these ears never sounded dated. It is a glorious record that for me, epitomises what is great about the 70's modern soul sound.
A bootleg EP featured a '12" version' of 'For Real', infact it was just an accomplished edit that fused both the A & B sides of this 45 together, there was never an official 12" release. Flowers also cut another track for LA Xpressio, the equally lovely 'We Can Make It Happen' (LAX 102) which is also highly-indemand amongst collectors of this genre.
