Reviews & Discussion

Review by Aug 28, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
Part 3 of 3 in the 50 BPM or Less compilations on Canned Beef Records. This is the harshest of the three, which of course meant that I enjoyed it the most. The opening track is done by Rabbit Girls and is a blistering slow tempo piece with crisp ripping sounds and slowed down vocals. Track 3, done by Gland, is a 4-minute wall noise piece that's fairly effective if you turn it up loud! Track 7, done by Locust Sympathizer, sounds like a live track and features lots of great feedback that's very controlled and featuressome good effects as well. Track 9, done by aro: Pund, is probably my favorite overall. Just under 10 minutes it's a fairly harsh drone piece with sounds of sandblasting and fading movements that cascade in and out. A pretty creepy piece. The closing track, done by IDX1274, is probably the harshest on here and was recorded louder than the rest as well. I had to turn this one down a bit. Great harsh noise and if you familiar with this artist this track will not let you down. Great way to finish the series for sure. Overall the 3 Volumes are great and feature a wide variety of sounds, starting from ambient with the first disc to harsh with volume three. Each CDr was pro-pressed and features great artwork by R.S. Connett of some creepy odd looking hand drawn monsters.
