Maurizio - M-4.5 Review by ---- Jul 01, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)

referencing M-4.5, 12", M-4.5

This is dope. Maurizio's sound developing its trademark sustained and more tightly controlled groove. Definitely a fitting step on from Domina. Although less immediate than M4, M4.5 unveals itself to you on repeated listens. Strongly recommended!

Nobody added comments yet?! Well that gives me the chance to tell anyone who hasn't heard this, it is probably one of the most 'advanced' (whatever that means) techno/house records EVER! How one loop can mean so many different things has never been explored better than this, it is unrivalled. Oh, I forgot to mention it's SOOO FUNKY!!! Don't think this is some lame intellectual exercise, coz it's a shake-your-ass groover with a killer bassline. Kind of hallucinogenic, the synths kind of waver in and out of the mix, tempting you to into thinking they resolve themselves...they never do. Just a perfect cycle. This is the kind of track which you THINK is doing something, way down in the mix - nope, it's your imagination. I think.
