Apotheosis - O Fortuna Review by richardfloor Nov 24, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)

referencing O Fortuna, CD, Single, CDS 12299-2

The famous of O'Fortuna track by Apotheosis..maybe one of my favorites of all times and lot of people love it also..
It's so popular all over the world.....We all know it was banned ...deleted out of the market because of the illegal use sample of the classical gospel music carmina burana originally writen and produced by CARL ORFF..
This o fortuna track is just a piece of art ... back in 1991 when I first heard it, i was so impress of how smart techno house music can be ..This track is just amazing and is also a collectors item since is totally out of print and hard to find this days!!

Apotheosis - O Fortuna Review by moroder Sep 12, 2003

referencing O Fortuna, 12", Maxi, DID 128319

The history of the record is as follows.
The "O Fortuna" is a part of classical composer Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana".
Composers Samoy & Rigaux had an almost immediate succes in the clubscene with this record.
They decided to release their version on CD.
When the CD-version came out the heirs of Carl Orff banned this version. All the CD's and record sales had to be stopped and whitdrawn from the stores,...
thus making it one of the most sought-after records at this time.(The CD version is even harder to find.)

Apotheosis - O Fortuna Review by DJCorne Jan 02, 2003

referencing O Fortuna, 7", Single, DIS 8319

This record was a real hype in the early 90's house-scene. This was caused by the family Orff who owned the rights on the original masterpiece by the classic composer Carl Orff.

On most classic music, there are no copyrights, but on the "Carmina Burana" there are...

The family Orff sued "Apotheosis" and won; the record was removed from the stores!!!
(...so that's why this item is a collectors-item).
