Fast forwarding the last track (Erased, Over, Out) on your stereo you will hear the "slowed down" Trent Reznor voice say; "You waste life, you waste life..." over and over until the track ends.

I don't think so. He says the words "erase me", and you don't really need to speed the song up to hear him say it either.

Foreign countries saw a much different take on Further Down the Spiral than that of the states. This one has a live version of "Hurt" which was used in the promotional video clip. Also included are the more straight forward mixes from the US release and two dance floor smashers "Heresy (version)" and "Ruiner (version)" both remixed by Charlie Clouser. Also know as Halo Ten, Volume Two. As good as the US release, if not better. Highly recommended and essential. 5/5

A remix album almost as good as the original. It takes The Downward Spiral further into a nightmarish sound adventure. Most of the remixes shine better than the originals and some tracks like "At the Heart of it All" and "The Beauty of Being Numb" sound like completely new tracks. The remixes of Piggy and Hurt both received air play and pushed this to be one the best selling remixes albums ever. This is great to lay in bed to with headphone while the lights are out. Check out the UK version, which in more dance oriented. 5/5

This CD has a great industrial sound to it, with all three versions of Mr. Self Destruct (Art of Self Destruction) which I found quite hard to find. Great CD for any NINFanatic's and also can be found for a cheap price! ($9.99 in Canada.)

For me, this was worth the purchase value simply for Coil's remix of Downward Spiral. The track features multiple vocal layers on different temporal cadences, building in a solid yet subtle crescendo towards the Moment when the trigger is pulled. When I first heard this, I felt that it was by far the best capture of the Moment that I'd ever heard. The Moment where all things in life have come to a culmination, and now the gray area between that and termination is held hair split between a muscle contraction and a trigger. Then release.

I suppose that if one does not have much interest in the psychology of the darker sides of humanity, it might be as profound, but then, you probably wouldn't be looking at NIN material.
