Mathew Jonson - Symphony For The Apocalypse: New Age Revolution Review by Mark_Anthony Aug 30, 2008
There's noone making music right now that sounds like Mathew Jonson. His tracks are so abstract, so creative. Symphony for the Apocolypse is just another notch in his belt. If Marionette is a perfect 10 in the realm of techno this one is solid 9 in my opinion. The 2 synths used in this track are absolutely bonkers. They're both written in an eerie sounding key as you would come to expect from Mathew. The first one slowly creeps in early on in the track and the second (the apocalyptic sounding one) blasts you out of nowhere during the break. And my oh my when the bassline drops look the f*ck out you are done for! There's a great video of this on Youtube with Sven rocking it at the Cocoon Club. Watch that and you'll see what I mean! Just be careful if you're sampling this at an online record shop as the runout grooves are reversed, thus causing some confusion. So track A is B and B is really A. Enjoy!!!
