Loess - 3D Concepts Part 2 Review by kid4today Nov 13, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
One of my favourite releases ever. Certainly the best release by Loess, the tracks are as warm sounding as the orange vinyl looks. The entire 3D concepts series is excellent though I think Loess takes top place, closely followed by Miles Tilman. If you've heard Loess before then you'll know what to expect (warm and building ambient sound), yet more so on this 12".

Loess - 3D Concepts Part 2 Review by pinkspace Jun 12, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is simply one of the best ambient IDM albums out there. The chord progressions create achingly beautiful soundscapes drenched in reverbs as smooth as warm milk, tugged steadily along by crumbling percussion that sounds like floating debris and oil drums rhythmically colliding on the sea. Sad, desolate and yet very comforting and familiar, a must have for fans of early Arovane, Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works II and certain flavors of Boards of Canada.

Loess - 3D Concepts Part 2 Review by Taskmaster Dec 30, 2005 (edited over 3 years ago)
Loess fans are in for a real treat with this vinyl. The A-side has 3 crunchy-IDM tracks with hints of ambience running through them. However, side-b is the real winner here. The 2 tracks on the bside are long, stretched out creepy ambience that in my opinion is some of Loess' best work. I liked this vinyl so much that I plan on getting the CD split version as well so I can listen to these tunes in my car.
