I really haven’t found Mira Calix’s work to be all that amazing, and the only reason why this release has any promise is the remixes. The Vendor Refill remix is an interesting interpretation of Sandsings. It starts out with this unorthodox drum pattern, very erratic and hard to follow and then he adds this soft almost unnoticeable sythn line that just makes the track just that much more beautiful. Now the Boards Of Canada remix is some of their darkest work in my opinion. The track just comes off to be sinister and chilling. Highly recommended. Skip the Mira tracks and go right for the remixes they are not to be missed.
