Every time a female-vocalized retro-inspired electro release appears, people start speculating about Adult. Well, I wish Adult.’s last opuses sounded any close to this album. Sure, one can hear it’s a remake with all that pounding dirty electro beats, punk vocals and cacophonous saxophone (Tuxedomoon now?:). Plus, as any imitation, it’ll never reach the original quality of emotion. And what we really get here is not a ‘horror disco’ at all, but a nice 'product' developed to catch the attention of all camps of goth, electro and post-punk consumers. However, it’s a good solution if you’ve ever been ‘The Birthday Party’ fan who just wishes to dance or just wants a soundtrack for a night driving in a sport car. And it’s at least catchy.
